The digital marketing landscape is a dynamic and highly competitive space, with new trends, challenges and strategies being introduced constantly.

If you want your business to have any hope of keeping up with the competition you need to be constantly adapting your own strategies to ensure you aren’t getting left behind.

However, if you are one of the early adopters for these new technologies and implement them into your digital marketing strategies effectively you have the opportunity to dominate your niche.

I have news for you, one of those opportunities is here right now!

Facebook Watch

The Social Media industry is highly competitive, companies are always trying to find ways to knock out their competition to gain dominance.

Early last year Facebook/Instagram set its sights on Snapchat, they wanted to have a platform that could compete with Snapchat’s stories. In comes Instagram’s stories feature.

After the announcement of Instagram Stories Snapchat’s share prices dropped drastically and it’s popularity fell significantly.

Now, Facebook has set its sights on Youtube. It’s answer is Facebook Watch. Facebook Watch is a video sharing service that allows users to upload “shows”. These shows can be live or recorded and must follow specific themes.

Currently Facebook Watch is only available to a select few in America and to upload content, for the time being you have to submit an application. If your content is selected though, it is promoted heavily within Facebook’s algorithms as they want more people to be viewing Facebook Watch content.

3 Reasons Marketers Should Use Facebook Watch:

  1. Hyper personalized: There are currently no marketing platforms that allow marketers and brands to target their audiences as specifically as Facebook. With Facebook Watch brands are now able to upload episodic videos directly to their targeted audience.
  2. Show linked groups: Facebook will also be releasing “Show Pages”, these are the pages about the shows. Allowing users to interact with one another as regular Facebook pages do. Thus brands will have the opportunity to openly talk to easily access a community following their content and engage in two-way communication with their audiences.
  3. High engagement: Similar to Facebook Live, Facebook Watch will allow users to comment and view comments in real time on show. Giving brands instant feedback on the consumer’s attitudes.
