What are your goals?

I promise you that, you will not achieve a single one of them without failing first.

Failure Makes Success Taste Better

When you have are having a tough week at work what is it that you look forward to most?

Beer o’clock?

Weekend with the kids?

Friday night movie?

Barbecue with your friends?

For me it is an early Saturday morning surf.

When I plunge into the waves on a Saturday morning, I get a rush of endorphins as I paddle out. The surf doesn’t even have to be good, it’s the sense of freedom it gives and instantly all my prior stress and worries are gone.

If my week had been easy I wouldn’t appreciate those sensations as much, I would probably take it for granted.

I Like Failure

The legendary Gary Vaynerchuk said these words on a podcast recently.

He is arguably one of the most successful digital marketers on the planet. However to him the money is just a bonus, Gary enjoys the pain, failure and the journey.

Awhile back he passed up on investing in Uber for $25 000, that $25 000 would have turned into millions had he made the investment. When he was asked about having regrets for not investing, he laughed it off and said he loves making mistakes.

You will never succeed without making mistakes. Mistakes will foster your development far more than any success .

The bigger the failure, the greater the taste of success when you finally reach your goals.

So do not be discouraged next time you fail, take note and learn from it.

Just promise me one thing, when you do succeed take a moment to enjoy it, then set a bigger goal for yourself.

I would love to hear what failures you have experienced, failures you are now extremely grateful for. Let me know in the comments below!
